BusyFit vs Apple Fitness+: studio classes or counted reps?

Updated November 1, 2026

The short answer

Apple Fitness+ is the polished choice: studio-quality classes from 5 to 45 minutes across 12 workout types, new sessions every week, and live metrics with an Apple Watch. BusyFit doesn't try to compete on classes. It's a five-minute strength habit: the iPhone camera counts every rep, check-ins fit around your calendar, and lifetime access costs $24.99 once, against Fitness+ at $79.99 a year.

Where BusyFit is better

What BusyFit doesn't do

BusyFit is iPhone-only, has no Apple Watch app, no video classes and no friends or community features, and its exercise list is smaller than most (about 30 moves). The camera counting is still being tuned across angles, lighting and body types, so it doesn't claim a validated accuracy figure; if it misses reps you can log the set by hand, marked Logged instead of Verified.

Which should you pick?

Pick Apple Fitness+ if you love trainer-led classes, own an Apple Watch and want variety beyond strength.

Pick BusyFit if you want a short strength minimum that fits a busy week, with your iPhone counting the reps.

Questions

Does Apple Fitness+ count reps?

Apple describes real-time metrics like heart rate and calories from Apple Watch, AirPods Pro 3 or a heart-rate monitor, not rep counting. BusyFit counts reps with the iPhone camera.

Do I need an Apple Watch for BusyFit?

No. BusyFit only needs an iPhone. Prop it up so the camera can see you.
